Historian, writer and political commentator Timothy Garton Ash delivers the annual fundraising lecture in aid of The Angus McDonald Trust, discussing his personal experience of Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi, and Burma's difficult transition to democracy compared to others he has studied and witnessed. 

The talk on 17 December will be in the Ondaatje Theatre of the Royal Geographic Society, London.

Celebrated historian, broadcaster and film-maker Michael Wood - author of BBC’s The Story of India, In The Footsteps of Alexander the Great, Conquistadors and much more - will be delivering a talk in aid of The Angus McDonald Trust. Michael’s talk complements the exhibition of spectacular images INDIA’S DISAPPEARING RAILWAYS by Australian photojournalist Angus McDonald on display 
at the RGS-IBG’s Pavilion Gallery, and coincides with the Society’s ‘On View’ display of its archival material relating to the history of India’s railways on the same day.
